“MR X-DIVISION” League

MR Paintball Events is please to announce the addition of an exciting new game format to our series for 2007.  We are responding to the overwhelming positive response that we received from players that participated in our XBALL events in 2007.  We have done exhaustive research to figure out the best way to present XBALL to our series teams.  We feel we have come up with a great solution.

XBALL is an awesome format; it does have drawbacks however.  Teams shoot a higher quantity of paintballs, you need a much larger roster, and in many leagues, you just don’t get to play enough games over the course of the season. All these points have been addressed, and solved with out new format.  The “MR X-DIVISION” will use the XBALL Lite format that is used in the CPL in Europe and for the 2008 PSP season.

The Game

  • Games will be won when the first team reaches a score of 7 points
  • Or when 15 minutes of actual game play has expired.  Team with the most points is the winner
  • If teams are tied at this point, a sudden death overtime of one point will be played.  The winner of this point will be declared the winner of the match
  • The game clock will stop each and every point. 
  • Teams will switch sides every 4th point. 
  • There will be a 2 minute break between each point, for players to reload, and air up. 
  • 5 Players on the field at once
  • 7 Players MAX per Match
  • Teams may roster a MAX of 10 players per event.
  • No timed penalties – (1for1 - 2for1 - 3for1 will be used)
  • In addition the team will play short for the next points. (1 point 1for1, 2points 2for1, and 3 points 3for1)

This guarantees each and every player more paintball then you have EVER played. 

The Event/Season Format
10 Franchise Teams will be split into 2 draws of 5.  Each team will play 3 or 4 games in their draw.  2 points will be awarded for each win, one point for an overtime loss, and zero points for a regulation loss.  The top two teams in each draw will qualify for the finals.  1st place will play 4th place and 2nd place will play 3rd place.  The winners will play for 1st and 2nd; the losers will play for 3rd.  Ties will broken using head to head games or with point difference.

Entry Fees
X-Division teams will pay $750 per event.  Or teams may choose to pay $2500 for the entire season if they prepay before the early deadline.

Paintballs:  $80 Per Case 2000 paintballs.
Our paint price has gone up only $10 per case, but our entry fee has been cut in half!!

2007 Average Cost
1250 entry fee + (30 cases 70 per case) = $3350 per team

2008 Average Cost
750 entry fee + (30 cases 80 per case) = $3150 per team

Prizes:
All cash prizes will be paid at each and every event.  A trophy will be awarded to the overall winner at the end of the season.  No series prize.
 
$6,000 cash at EVERY EVENT!!!!  (Based on a MIN 8 teams)
1st Place $3000 - 2nd Place $1500 - 3rd Place $1000

Divisions
The MR X-Division is totally open; any player may play in this league.  You will not lose your D3 status if you play in this league.  The only exception is any player that plays on any team that qualifies for the finals at any event.  This player will now be considered D1. 

1 PRO player per team may play in the MR X-Division.

What teams will be playing?  8 teams will be invited to join the league.  If after these teams there is space remaining we will open the league to the public until all 8 spots are full.
