FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)

CAN I BRING MY OWN PAINT?
No, only the event paintballs will be permitted for use. Any outside paintballs used in a game will result in your team receiving zero points for that game. Your teams' second offense will result in being disqualified from the event.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY PAINTBALLS?
This is one of the major changes for the nationals. In the past teams have been allowed to run "TABS". This will not be permitted for 2008. All paintballs must be paid for as you take them.  If you have "FREE" paintballs you will have a coupon in your team package that can be redeemed for your paint.  The reason that we have had to do this is because of the large amount of teams that attend the nationals event.  It is far too confusing to try and keep track of 75 teams.  Purchased paintballs will not be refunded for any reason

WHAT DIVISION SHOULD I PLAY IN?
This is one of the toughest questions in paintball. If you have NEVER played in a MR Event before, you qualify to play as a DIV3 player. If you have NEVER played in a 5-MAN event, you may play in the 1st Timers division D4 . Prizes in the higher divisions (D1 and D2) will be better, so will the competition. If you have made the finals as a DIV3 team you should move up to DIV2.

CAN I PLAY IN 2 DIVISIONS?
Yes you may.  If you are a DIV1 Player you may only play DIV1 or DIV2.  If you are a DIV2 player you may play DIV 1-2-3.  If you are a DIV3 player you may play DIV1-2-3.  If you are a DIV 4 player you may play DIV 1-2-3-4.  However if your team makes the semifinals or better you will lose your lower classification.  ex. A D3 player playing on a D1 team that makes the semi-finals will now become a D1 player.

ARE RAMP AND OTHER GUN MODES ALLOWED?
NO.  If your gun is found to be ramping you will be suspended for 6 games.  Your team must play short for these 6 games.  Any team that has 2 players suspended for ramp will be tossed from the event. RAMP is defined as a gun that shoots on its own, or adds shots electronically.

HOW MUCH PAINT WILL MY TEAM SHOOT?
The average team at last years event shot 8-10 cases of paintballs.

WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?
The complete prize package will be announced before the event starts.

HOW MANY GAMES WILL I PLAY?
The preliminary round consists of 8-10 games per team. This guarantees each and every team at least 8 games. The Semifinal rounds will consist of 2-3 games; the final round will also have 2-3 games. Your team will play 8-10 games if they fail to make the playoffs, 11-13 games if you fail to make the finals and 15-18 games if you qualify for the final round. Your team will play 6-8 games on Saturday and 2-3 games on Sunday plus all playoff games.

WHEN DO I PLAY?
The entire schedule will be posted 5 days before the event start.
It is very important to understand that we usually TRY run ahead of schedule, be on time meaning please be at least 1 hr early!!!

CAN I BRING MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO WATCH ME PLAY?
Of course, spectators are more than welcome all spectators are free.

WHERE DO I PARK?
Please park on the stampede grounds.  The Stampede charges $12 to park your car.  You can buy parking passes with IN/OUT privileges.  This is highly recommended.  The parking gates open at around 6am....if you get there before that......the gate is already open

HOW MANY FIELDS ARE WILL BE USED?
We will be using 1 field

WHAT SHOULD I USE FOR FOOT WEAR?
This year we will be using nilex for the playing surface. Your best choice for shoes will be basic running shoes. Any basic runner should work. We do not recommend actual grass cleats, some players like to use golf shoes with "soft" spikes.  This material is used for BCPPL events in addition to many local indoor fields.

WHEN CAN I WALK THE FIELDS?
There will be no playing on the fields Friday. The fields will be open to be walked at 5pm on Friday. You will not be allowed in the building before this time. Fields will be closed for walking at 7pm, for the ALL-STAR game and reopen at 8pm.  The building will be closed at 10pm.  This is MORE then enough time for teams to get a plan on the field.

WHAT TIME DOES THE FIELD OPEN ON SATURDAY MORNING?
The field will be open at 6:30 am.  Please pay close attention to the schedule so that you do not arrive too early, or to late for your games.
